Prophecy Child of Light Vampires Realm Romance Series Book 1 edition by Felicity Heaton Paranormal Romance eBooks
This book starts out with a great story line. A female vampire has been hidden away by her vampire family and she gets restless and sneaks out to hunt/feed for the first time by herself. After feeding she finds herself in front of a gorgeous male vampire from another family and hurries home. Valentine knows who Prophecy is and has no choice but to tell his superior but when he is tasked with killing her, he saves her instead. Valentine kidnaps Prophecy and makes her see that now that the families know what she is, they are going to kill her. She doesn't believe it until she hears her vampire brother calling her an abomination that needs to be killed. The premise of the story was good but that's where it ends. The writing, pace and story line after they leave together was just slow and repetitive. This could have been a great book but the story was poorly executed and didn't keep me engaged at all.
When reading a romance book I like there to be an actual romance. It even has romance as part of the title...(Vampires Realm Romance Series Book 1) but alas there is no sex in this book. There are some kisses and biting but no sex. The cover shows two naked people but this book doesn't live up to the cover at all.
If there's one thing I can't tolerate, it's a cliffhanger and this book has a major one! Nothing is resolved, nothing. We don't find out if Prophecy saves or destroys them. One of the main characters disappears and we don't know if Prophecy ever finds him. A book should have a beginning, a middle and an ending that clears up the majority of the questions asked in the book. This one definitely didn't do that. It doesn't matter if this is part of a series or not, each book should resolve what questions and story lines are going on in the book. A lot of readers like myself, really hate cliffhanger endings. This book was boring, it didn't keep me engaged at all. I can usually read a book in a day but I struggled for 2 days to keep reading this book. I almost just put it down and didn't finish it but I figured I would at least have some closure to Prophecy's story and feel better about finishing it, but that didn't happen!

Prophecy Child of Light Vampires Realm Romance Series Book 1 edition by Felicity Heaton Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
Prophesy is a vampire girl with magic. Only catch is that vampires cannot harbor magic so what is Prophesy exactly? She is half human and half vampire. Only the human part is relatively small because Prophesy believes and behaves as a vampire. What starts the ball rolling is that she craves a small taste of freedom from her mansion prison, but this "sneak out" only makes her encounter Valentine. Again with every choice there is a consequence. So her sneak out starts her on the path of self-awareness, knowledge, truth and love. Forsaking his entire family for Prophesy, Valentine commits a sin by falling in love with another vampire in a different bloodline. Having his entire future configured, Valentine never considered love and sacrificing all his hard-work by rising in the family ranks to become someone prestigious only to diminish by his newly chose path. As we journey with Prophesy and Valentine we witness their budding love and meet various other characters. We also witness Prophesy's mistakes and the hard lessons she learns by not observing or listening first and then acting upon those actions. Our Prophesy believes in acting first and then listen later. So this series premiere gives us a taste on how Prophesy plans to save everyone from the demons and total world destruction. But something bad happens to our Valentine at this books end that causes Prophesy to seek him in book two.
Though poorly written this was another great vampire book, I love the combination of vampires, werewolves, witches. This is the first of Ms Heaton's books I've read and it drove me crazy how wordy some of her dialogue is, I felt short of breath just reading it quietly. Also, a few scenes she kept saying floor when the characters were outside, even if she meant forest floor, it still is no excuse.
The names Prophecy and Valentine were a bit much, if this weren't a vampire book, the names alone might've kept me from purchasing it.
Some of the action scenes were a little weak and the characters dispatched with enemies just a bit too easily. It wasn't enough to lose my interest, but I just hope the next book in the series has much more insurmountable challenges or I might not purchase book three. There were no steamy sex scenes, regardless of what the cover depicts, but perhaps in book two, cross my fingers for that.
If you like magic, monsters, romance, dark prophecies, with the backdrop of European cities, you'll enjoy this book.

I felt that Prophecy though came to the conclusion to save the world when she learned the prophecy that she'd either save the world or destroy all vampires/werewolves. As a vampire who doesn't remember being human and had lived inside her family's home all her life the decision came far too early and just a few days after she first saw the outside world.
Also, there's one scene where Valentine betrayed his clan by saving Prophecy from execution and then decided to return to his clan. His master ordered him to kill Prophecy and he saved her, so he'd be killed, it made no sense for him to do that. Then Prophecy told him he'd be killed if he returned so he stayed with her, all I can say is duh, how could a centuries old vampire be so stupid?
The development of Prophecy and Valentine's romance wasn't rushed, so that was at least logical.
The final battle was very weak and not at all logical in the way it was carried out. I skimmed most of it because it wasn't exciting, interesting or believable, but the ending at least was an unexpected twist that was enough for me to purchase the next book to find out what happens next, if nothing interesting happened at the end the book would've gotten only one star and I would've recommended not reading it.
